THE CHAMBER CHORALE

The HCC Chamber Chorale is a select group of singers drawn from the larger Symphonic Chorus. This smaller and further-auditioned group produces the beautiful and intimate sounds of choral chamber music and is able to extend the presence of HCCA into venues where the Symphonic Chorus is not always able to go. Chorale concerts have touched local arts and civic organizations, including AshaKiran, the Huntsville Museum of Art, and the Huntsville Chamber Music Guild.

An ongoing collaboration for the HCC Chamber Chorale has been with the Huntsville Chamber Winds, a group of local professional instrumentalists led by Dr. David Ragsdale of UAH, in a popular and successful annual concert entitled Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.  These presentations have featured outstanding special guests such as pianist Sarkis Baltaian, jazz trumpeter Ken Watters, and U.S. Army Chorus solo vocalist Alvy Powell. In 2011, the Chorale enjoyed an incredible (and rare) opportunity for choristers, the chance to work with and perform the music of noted composer David Maslanka.

The Chamber Chorale is led by Dr. Michael Weinberg, with accompanist Eric Wilson
