Shelli Rimes is the director of the Huntsville Community Chorus Youth Chorale. She began working with the Huntsville Community Chorus Association as accompanist and assistant director in 2003, later becoming founder and director of the Youth Chorale.
Shelli graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in vocal music education from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is a founding and current member of the Madison County Choral Director’s Association, where she has served as treasurer, vice-president, and president. She is also a member of the Alabama Vocal Association and of the Music Educators National Conference and was listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Shelli has served as chorale director for Madison Academy since 2015. Previously, Shelli served as choral director at Sparkman High School for eight years, directing the Beginning Mixed Choirs, Intermediate Choir, and Concert Choir. She was also music director for the Sparkman Theatre Company. She has also participated in community musical theater productions.
Shelli lives in Huntsville with her husband, Toby, and their two children, Braden and Cora.
